In Australia, buying loose tobacco is a common alternative to pre-rolled cigarettes, mainly because it's often cheaper and lets you control your smoke. You'll find it in pouches at tobacconists or certain convenience stores, but thanks to heavy taxes and plain packaging laws, the price is still pretty steep compared to other countries. It's a staple for roll-your-own smokers, who appreciate the ritual of rolling their own, even if the health warnings and cost are hard to ignore.
